Teambuilding
WHAT IS A TEAM?
A team is a small number of people with complementary skills who are committed to a common purpose, performance goals, and approach for which they hold themselves mutually responsible.
DO WE HAVE A MOB? A WORK GROUP? A SUPERTEAM?
• MOB-(Latin: mobile vulgus. A moving, disorderly, lawless group).
• Work Group- there is little or no interdependency, members interact primarily to share information, best practices, or perspectives. There is no sense of mutual responsibility.
• Potential Team (Pseudo Team)- the group is dependent upon one another for the performance necessary to accomplish a goal or have significant impact upon a goal. The members have some mutual responsibility.
• Real Team– consists of people with complimentary skills who are equally committed to a common purpose, goals, and working approach for which they hold themselves mutually responsible
• High Performing Team (SuperTeam)- all above for the real team plus the members have committed to one another’s personal growth and success. Members are mutually committed and accountable for consistently surpassing ordinary goals.
